Faculty Spotlight: Conor Unruh B'10

Conor Unruh B’10 is a new member of the Mathematics Faculty for the 2021-2022 school year; he teaches Algebra E and College Prep Pre-Calculus. Although he is technically new to the faculty, he is not new to Bellarmine. Conor has been involved with the Baseball program for the last 8 years and the Freshmen Football program for the last year. He has also been a cabin leader on the Men’s Junior Encounter multiple times over the last 5 years.

“After graduating from Bellarmine in 2010, I went on to attend college at Central Washington University.  In the spring of 2020, I graduated with a teaching degree from Western Governors University.  Although this is my first full year of teaching at Bellarmine, I completed my student teaching here during the 2019-2020 school year. Outside of teaching, I am married to a Bellarmine alum, Madison Peterson Unruh B’13.  We enjoy spending time outdoors and cooking.  I also enjoy golfing, reading, and spending time with family.”

“After coaching for several years, I realized how rewarding it is to work with kids and see them grow into leaders in our community.  I realized that I wanted to be a part of their development and decided to pursue a degree in education.”  

“One of the most rewarding aspects of this job is having students go out of their way to stop in my classroom and talk about different aspects of their lives. It is very rewarding to be able to provide some perspective on certain situations.”
