I am thrilled to be part of the Bellarmine community, where service, purpose, faith and rigor converge to create a transformative education. Together, we make a bold impact on the world, guided by the teachings of our Catholic faith and Jesuit charism.
Service played a centric role in my upbringing with a family that emphasized helping others. From a young age, I was taught the value of living with a servant's heart and considering the needs of those around me. This perspective profoundly influenced my worldview. I firmly believe that service bridges gaps between people, fostering empathy, compassion and community. Engaging in service allows us to better understand the complex issues and diverse needs in our world. Service is soul work and at the core of our Jesuit mission.
Drawing inspiration from our founders, the Jesuits, I am grateful to be part of a community that encourages students to explore and embrace their passions. We accompany our students on their path of self-discovery and personal growth. In the Jesuit tradition, living a purposeful life is not solely about striving and accomplishments. Rather, it is about embracing the journey and lessons we learn along the way. It is a lifelong commitment to recognizing that God's love is ever-present, shaping us as we continue our pilgrimage of "living with purpose."
Faith is at the core of everything I do. As a practicing Catholic, I draw strength and comfort from the sacraments and rituals of my faith. My relationship with God is ever evolving, and I make it a priority to listen and reflect frequently.
I am incredibly fortunate to be part of a school community that cherishes the spiritual dimensions of learning and teaching. Embracing Ignatian Spirituality as a Jesuit educator, my faith informs all aspects of my life. Serving as Bellarmine’s president is not a job; it's a deeply personal calling. I am dedicated to fostering an environment where faith can grow and flourish in all students.
Rigor means pursuing excellence through reflection, inquiry, depth and connection. At Bellarmine, we honor both the "what" and "how" of learning, providing students with a holistic approach to education that encompasses academic, spiritual and emotional growth. We weave knowledge, meaning, reflection and application together for a rich and relevant experience.
Bellarmine students are active participants in their learning journey, becoming global change agents and contemplatives in action. While we honor the significance of teaching and learning, we also recognize that something greater lies in the space between these elements – God's presence, influence and voice.
