Freshman Experience

Breakaway is an opportunity for incoming freshman to begin their four-year journey of friendship by meeting new people and building community. Bellarmine sophomores, juniors and seniors on the Breakaway Team & Crew spend their day welcoming the Class.
Link Crew

Bellarmine's Freshman Class attends the Freshman Retreat "Breakthrough: On Purpose for a Purpose" during the month of January. The retreat is off campus and the theme of the day centers around the importance of loving relationships and finding a purpose in the Bellarmine experience. Students are led through the retreat by their Link Crew leaders and other student and adult leaders. 

Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, Link Crew trains mentors from the junior and senior classes to be leaders. As positive role models, Link Crew leaders guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school. Link Crew’s goal is to provide a structure in which students make real connections with each other. Freshmen learn that people at school care about them and their success and leaders experience increased self-esteem as well as overall character development.

Service Modules are focused on Catholic Social Teaching and the Universal Apostolic Preferences. As part of the Service Modules, freshman spend a full day in service at L’Arche Farms.
