Bellarmine Preparatory School

Prospective Families / President Welcome

President Jack Peterson

Dear Prospective Student:

I hope you're as excited about high school as I was. I knew something about Jesuit education before I entered high school, but not very much. Once I started, I felt blessed to experience how fun and challenging school can be. But it is really in the years since graduating that I have come to appreciate how well that experience had prepared me for the challenges and opportunities of life.

How can school be both fun and academically challenging? Because our teachers already know something important about you:  that you are a unique creation of God, who made you to love and be loved. It's their ability to appreciate you as an individual that leads them to give you individual care.

There's a Latin phrase for this that Jesuit schools have used for hundreds of years: cura personalis, care for the person.  But cura personalis doesn't just come from our teachers.  It's also the love and acceptance that students give to each other. When you come to Bellarmine, you'll be building a community, helping each other grow academically, spiritually, athletically and socially.

So the secret ingredient to a Bellarmine education is actually...You!  How much you get involved, how you help build community, how you take advantage of the academic and extra-curricular opportunities offered to you will not only lay the foundation for your own life, but will impact the lives of those around you.

So we look forward to how your class will make its contribution to a Bellarmine tradition that gets stronger every year. We hope you will be part of that.
